The excitement to shoot this day had been building for some time – Harry Potter theme!
Being Harry Potter nerds and getting to shoot a wedding like this is a total dream – and it totally delivered!
What an unbelievable experience and a pleasure to be involved in.
Hayley and Michael tied the knot at a beautiful village hall, which had been transformed into the great hall from Hogwarts.
The day started with us travelling to Slaley Hall to meet Hayley and the girls. It was lovely and relaxed with Gemma Foster doing the girls hairs and make up artist Urszula Klensa. Faye stayed with the girls and Davy missioned over to meet with Michael. The lovely details were already showing with the lads sporting temporary tattoos of the dark lord Voldermort and Harry Potter themed cufflinks. There was a quick trip to the pub before heading to the church while we waited for the bride.
While reading the brilliantly designed daily prophet style church service the bride arrived. Hayley looked absolutely breathtaking and watching how happy the two were of them were was amazing.
The dogs came to great them at the end of the service and to get a quick snap, before we whisked away with the bride and groom to Derwent Reservoir for a shoot. Equipped with their wands, we got some serious shots and also some more playful shots.
The venue can’t even be described well enough to do it justice, it could sound cheesy but it was imaginative, creative and unique. The sorting hat surrounded by wands welcomed guests, which sorted them into the houses. The four houses, all decorated with colours, potions and banners was outstanding.
Our photo studio ended an amazing day and night for us with guests dressing up as Harry Potter characters, riding brooms and catching the snitch while we snapped away.
Thank you for letting us be involved in this incredible experience and best wishes to the new Mr and Mrs Maughan.
